Take note of the what's, when's, who's and how's of your anger. Keep at least a mental Anger Diary and come to understand its mechanisms.
What I learned in keeping conscious track, was that anger is a simply a red flag, an indicator that there's something of importance going on that requires deep attention.It helps to remember that anger - like all emotions - is a cloud that will pass away, and does not reflect much truth about reality except how I feel about it.
The image above is my first painting. Ever.
Painting the word helped me focus on it and begin to develop a strategy toward managing it.
More difficult, was the previous exercise of coming to grips with the fact that I was one angry human being. But that's another post.
